The Inaugural Sparked Me To Think About Americas First Family Of Fireworks. The Grucci’s!  Holders of The Guinness Book Of World Records  for “Largest Fireworks Display” ever recorded. ‘Fireworks by Grucci’ is now a 6th generation family owned and operated company. Phil Grucci now runs the company started by his Great Great Great Uncle but he’ll be the first to tell you it’s been an ongoing ‘family’ effort from day one. He’s quick to mention it has also included the efforts of many ‘considered family’ because they’ve worked with the Grucci’s for so long.  Below Phil Grucci is featured with his wife Debbie (cool name) and his 2 children Chris and Lauren. Phil shared the family is about to expand again with a new grandchild on the way! (I suggested his Grandpa name be Pop Pop Pop)

I invited Phil Grucci to join me for a conversation to talk about what ‘Fireworks By Grucci’ is doing during the pandemic minus most of the typical giant fabulous celebrations. Olympic Games! Commemorations!  Countless Las Vegas extravaganzas ….and now? What?

I think you’ll enjoy our warm chat (which became two chats because hey we’re both Italian and there was more to talk about) It’s really interesting what Grucci is working on with the Department of Defense. Also interesting is that Grucci has been using this fireworks down time, to design ‘greener’ fireworks. As for how to keep a multi-generational family business going successfully? Phil Grucci says the key is COMMUNICATION.

It’s a fun listen. Phil even tells the story of closing a Las Vegas Casino Fireworks deal with his Grandmas Meatballs. True story.

(Between you and me I was not at all surprised. I’ve successfully deployed  the secret weapon ‘meatball strategy’ more than once. Be forewarned though, it only works if they’re damn good meatballs)
