“If I Had To Name The Single Characteristic Shared By All The Truly Successful People I’ve Met In My Lifetime, I’d Have To Say It’s The Ability To Create And Nurture A Network Of Contacts. But Everyone Does It Differently.” – Harvey Mackay

During my “pandemic purging” I came across ‘The Harvey Mackay ROLODEX Network Builder’ one of my favorite books I forgot I even owned. This book definitely made an impact on me when I first read it back when, and all these years later I often joke thanks to Harvey Mackay I’ve created my own invaluable “ROLODEB”.

Finding the book and Harvey’s message Copyright 1993, seemed uncanny this week as you’d think the book was written for the circumstances we find ourselves in right now.

“This book is dedicated to anyone who ever struggled – to find a job, buy a house, raise a child, start a business, finish school, make a sale, invent a product, get ahead, or make something happen. Struggling is not a comfortable thing.”

Harvey reminds us – wherever we’re going we all need the help of others to get there. Don’t ever be afraid to ask for what you need. That’s what your network is for. That’s what your Rolodex file is for. There are plenty of people out there waiting and willing to help.

If Ever There Was A Time To Get Up The Guts To Ask For What You Need – It’s Now.

If Ever There Was A Time To Offer Up What You Can Give Without Making Someone Ask – It’s Now.
