Meet 6’5″ USA Polo Player Kris Kampsen! He’ll be playing for the Audi Polo team at the East Coast Open at The Greenwich Polo Club on in the biggest Polo tournament of the summer. Since he was old enough to walk, Kris Kampsen has been an equestrian. Kris’ childhood passion has taken him from riding ponies to one of the leading polo players in America. Born in 1982, Kris turned professional at the young age of 15. By the time he was 17 he had attained a 3-goal handicap. Within another year he was rated at 4-goals, and at the age of nineteen he carried a 5-goal handicap and was among the top 1% of the American players. Kris has had the opportunity to compete all over the world – United States, South America, Europe, and Canada and Mexico.
The Greenwich Polo Club public matches will take place over three consecutive Sundays in Greenwich, CT. The 20-goal tournament begins Sunday, August 23rd and continues through Sunday, August 30th. The Championship Match is Sunday, September 6th. The USPA will live stream the Semi-Finals on ChukkerTV, and NBC Sports will air a 60-minute National broadcast of the East Coast Open Final on September 13th .
