That’s The Spirit! Continuum Distilling a Distillery in Waterbury, CT is providing some “Relief” to American craft brewers in trouble due to the coronavirus. Continuum Distilling is making a name for itself through its high quality “beer-whiskey” made from ‘reclaimed beer’. Connecticut Stay at Home orders forced nearly all 70 local craft breweries in CT to lay off workers and dump large quantities of craft beer. Continuum Distilling launched “Relief” its’ new Spirit made from Craft IPA to benefit the CT Brewery Relief Fund. They’re reclaiming the beer to save it from being wasted and also to give back to their brewery partners.
Founder and Head Distiller Brandon Collins, whose background is in both science and distilling, discovered a way to recoup materials not fully utilized in the beer brewing process and transform them into unique and exceptional spirits. With a Master’s Degree in Chemistry and 13 years in the pharmaceutical industry as a Protein Crystallographer (sounds intense) Brandon who has extensively researched the art of distillation sure sounds like a special spirit to me!
