I celebrated my Italian Heritage this year wearing buckskin while eating a meatball wedge. Slightly confusing but I wanted to be fair. I love all indigenous people and I love my Italian heritage but I’m no longer sure what the heck’s appropriate. Did we really need all this extra agida? With all due respect to history, I’m thinking it might be time to swap for a new Italian role model. And maybe we get rid of the statue idea all together and pick someone whose face we could just imprint on a Ferrari. That way if people don’t like it, we just move the Ferrari someplace safer. LOL. Was talking Italian Heritage today with Anthony Paolercio, my dear friend, business associate and all around class act Italian-American! (And brother from another mother.) Anthony and I were talking about all the great Italian role models and he sent me this very cool photo of a painting that hangs in his house. Wow. Lots of great Italian Americans featured here in a…Chrysler? But of course!
The piece is called “Italian Contributions To America Since 1492” by Alan Laurie / Los Angeles.
