LifeVac Founder Arthur Lih Is Donating One Of His Life Saving Choking Rescue Devices to EVERY School in the US. THAT’S AMAZING so I’m helping share this news, along with Fox & Friends, NewsMax and others to make sure every school takes advantage of this generous gift.
LifeVac Helps Prevent Senseless Choking Deaths. And Arthur Lih who invented the life saving device thinks every school in the US should have one on hand…in case. ‘School budgets’ or lack of budgets, were holding up progress on implementing the idea, so passionate Arthur Lih got frustrated and said, never mind, I’ll do it myself and donate one to every school in the U.S. I don’t care what it costs.
It’s gonna cost him millions, but Arthur Lih doesn’t care. He’s obsessed with making sure as many people as possible have access one of these life-saving devices that could mean the difference between life and death, in minutes, for anyone at any age.
Arthur set out on the LifeVac mission some years ago when he was nearby a woman in a hospital weeping following the death of her young son. A grape had become lodged in the child’s windpipe and the Heimlich Maneuver did not work.
Arthur, the father of a similar aged child at the time, was deeply pained and deeply affected by the tragedy that he felt could have been avoided. So, he set out to do something! Arthur, who had a little bit of a background in making things, invented a simple apparatus that could clear an airway in basically a single suction pull, in the hopes that no child would ever die a senseless choking death again.
Arthur’s goal and LifeVacs’ goal, is to save as many lives as possible throughout the world. They’re doing a great job. So far 1290 lives have been saved by having a LifeVac on hand!

At LifeVac, research and development headquarters in Springfield Gardens, NY, there is actually a “Hall of Saves” featuring people of all ages who lives were saved thanks to LifeVac. Those lives include, among others, a 3 yr old little girl who choked on a peanut, a 90 yr old woman in a Senior Living Facility who choked on a food, an 82 yr old man who choked on a carrot, a 2 1/2 yr old girl who choked on a grape, a 7 yr old girl who choked on bacon, and a 1 yr old girl who choked on a hot dog. The list of ‘saves’ continues to grow. Just recently LifeVac Europe reported that a 70-year-old man at a private hospital in the North East of England choked on a piece of chicken, causing a complete airway obstruction. On the 2nd application LifeVac successfully dislodged the obstruction saving his life.
Arthur Lih says, “We have now touched the lives of almost 1300 individuals and their families. Together we are making a difference one life at a time.” Incredible rescues around the world thanks to LifeVac’s upper airway clearing device which is they say, the safest, simplest method to save an aspirating person.
Again, Arthur Lih is DONATING A LIFEVAC TO EVERY SCHOOL IN THE US.
Please make sure someone from your school, your child’s school or a school near you gets in touch with LifeVac to get their free LifeVac Choking Rescue Device Kit.

having created this amazing device called LifeVac and how many lives he’s saved by doing it. Man oh man. So hi everybody I’m Debbie Nigro this is the Debbie Nigro Show. Some years ago, Arthur Lih got in touch with me. I didn’t know who he was. He told me what he was doing. I was like, wow, that’s like incredible. And he told me the story behind why he was doing this. And the story was, and I’ll let him explain more after I introduce him, but he has a daughter and he was in hospital. Somehow he heard or saw I saw a woman, a hysterical, having lost her child from choking on a grape. And he freaked and it just changed him. He said, this cannot happen, there’s got to be an answer. And he actually invented this thing called life-vacs, so no other child would ever lose their lives from choking. Arthur, you are giving one to every school in the country now. I bow down to you, my friend. Hello and welcome. Hi, thank you.

What a lovely, appreciative introduction. Wow.

You are something.

You know, it’s been 11 years now, and we’ve saved over 1,200 people, over 800 children, and every year, we’ve children die in school every single year. It was at least five last year. I met one of the parents who is now fighting to have life back in school, and we’re just not getting there fast enough. So I vowed to give one to every school in America.
1

Why aren’t you getting there fast enough?

The red tape, you know, budgets, the government’s process is slow. You see, the problem is that a child in a wheelchair, there’s an organization called EFA, it’s called Equal First Aid, and they are advocating for people with disabilities such as children in a wheelchair or scoliosis brace. There’s numerous Children that have no chance, you know, they can’t be behind me. Yeah. Oh

I was speaking of the
2

Education board education meeting they brought up the budget again, and I said, you know, I can’t live with myself Thinking that money money. We don’t have the money to save our children
1
0:02:44
Unbelievable. I saw that I saw the video of you presenting to an assembly. Where were you? Where were you presenting the idea?
2
0:02:56
I was in Wisconsin. You know, a mother in Wisconsin spoke of losing her child at home. And parents spoke of their beautiful son, Sam, who choked to death in school. Steve Maddox spoke of his granddaughter, Isaiah, who choked to death in school. And then they brought up that they didn’t have the budget and
1
0:03:15
you lost it I saw your face, man I was so impressed with how you presented uh… the importance of this this need and uh… I know there’s just not a lot of budget in a lot of schools for a lot of things but one of the statistics that I read on your website which I know is true, because you went to put it there, one child dies every five days from choking, that’s really loud.
2
0:03:43
Way back was the first kind of driving factor when I heard of a seven year old at the same age as my daughter that choked and then I researched and I said, oh my God, it’s the fourth leading cause of accidental death. We have slips and falls, car accidents, poisonings and then choking. So this is not a lightning bolt. I always thought it was like a freak accident. It’s not. And you know, if our kids were dying every year, five to ten of them every single year from the same thing, other than choking, you know, we’d all be up in arms.
4
0:04:16
Yep.
2
0:04:17
But it’s so common that people just, oh yeah, it happens, you know, and I can’t take that.
1
0:04:22
No, my gosh. And so this LifeVac basically has saved hundreds of kids and one of the things is like he said the best baby gift you can ever give somebody. Some girls were like oh it’s the greatest thing ever. Tell me though, after you were freaked out about understanding this other child died the same age as your daughters, what gave you the license to think you could invent something? Are you an inventor? I forget exactly what your background is.
2
0:04:47
No, I’m old school though, my dad was an engineer, I’ll put a man on the moon, and my whole life, we did everything, we built our own furniture and hung our own stuff, so I’ve always been in that environment of figuring things out, building them. And just a baby boomer baby, I fix my own car, we fix our own houses, et cetera.
1
0:05:12
Yeah, what a concept.
2
0:05:13
Yeah, but the thing was to me is the simplicity of the problem when you boil it down, right? Something’s stuck in a pipe like that, you know, every homeowner in America has had an unclogged pipe. So what’s the big deal, you know? Let’s take out the whole scary medical part and dumb it down to something stuck in a pipe. How do you get it out right so I took a plunger and just re-engineered it so instead of pushing it it pulled out and boom I mean we’re coming up on we’ve saved over 800 kids I’m I’m very confident we’ll save a thousand by the end of the year and it’s super simple it’s a little plunger you push it down all locks and it makes a suction and pops the object out and that’s the frustration too when I was with that mom in Kentucky whose son died and I’m like, she just had a life, a beautiful kid to be here. This is ridiculous.
4
0:06:08
I can’t take it.
1
0:06:10
Well, you know, you’re unusual that you not only have invented this but you patented it and you got it out there in the world. You just spend all your time getting the word out and also going to see people whose lives have been saved by your device. I find that amazing. You actually go visit the families.
2
0:06:28
Yeah, well it’s inspiration. If you see a picture on our website of the whole saves, there was a, when we had 400 saves, we had a party and at one point there was a child that we saved was sitting in a chair, you know, eating his dinner and two other kids that we saved were under the chair playing and I looked at that chair with all this action and life and joy and then I saw it empty. Yeah. And that’s, you know, like a Christmas carol moment, you know, and I was like, you know, we what a difference we made. And, you know, that’s just the ultimate pain. And we now have 800 families that didn’t lose their child. They’re still playing. They’re still enjoying life. And they’re not devastated. So I believe that child and those are the true heroes that fight so it doesn’t happen to other people.
1
0:07:19
Yeah, and you know, I want to just take it one step further. You know, this is not just for children, even though that was the inspiration. People live alone. What then? You know, people who are older, who have… There’s a lot of people… Just about every one of us has had a moment where we started choking, like, oh wow, this could really go wrong. I mean, I told you privately, I’m neurotic about choking. I’ll freak out. And I, you know, some days I’m totally neurotic.
2
0:07:44
You know, you’re right. I mean, a large percent, 800 to 1200 saves, almost half of them are not children. And we’ve saved many people in elder care. Many people have saved themselves. And we’re starting to see more hero, good Samaritans, you know, they have it in their car and they go into a restaurant and save someone. We have video of a child being saved in a restaurant and an elderly woman. So you’re right, it can happen to anyone at any time and it’s certainly so common that it’s worth, you know, a fire extinguisher, you know, maybe you want to have a light back.
1
0:08:22
It’s funny, on the way over to the show today I was thinking, why doesn’t every restaurant have one of these because you know I don’t think everybody really knows how to do the Heimlich maneuver right.
2
0:08:30
I mean sometimes you can’t always do it too. The person’s big, you’re small, they’re sick, they pass out but we’re getting there. Every Costco in America now has a life hack on the wall. Cool. Two major insurance companies recommend to their customers to get it both for ethical and liability purposes so we’re on our way. I mean, my goal is to basically make it so that, you know, if someone does choke to death, it’s big news because it doesn’t happen anymore.
1
0:09:01
That’s the goal. I want to just explain for those of you listening how it works, that Arthur invented this. And he said, it’s really simple. It is, it’s a patented design valve that prevents air from pushing food or objects downward. So it creates a one-way section to remove the large food or objects. So it’s very simple. I’ve seen you demonstrate it. It’s like a one-shot, it’s like one movement.
2
0:09:25
Yeah, the best way to describe it, because of what it is, it was a little sink plunder from Home Depot. And all I did was make a very intricate valve system so when you push it down, the air vents out the side. I use a ball valve so it’ll never rot or fail. Ball valve locks, you pull up, it makes a suction and pulls it out. Now you gotta remember, I did anti-business. It lasts forever. Made in America, it covers kids and adults, and if you ever use it, it’ll give you a free one. My goal was to make it affordable and last forever. You have this little insurance policy, throw it in your cabinet, 20 years from now, I hope you put it in a recycled bin.
1
0:10:08
Got it. And you have a life-back travel kit that comes with an adult mask, a pediatric mask, and instructions, and a clear travel bag so that people can, if they’re on the road somewhere, use it wherever they are and keep one in their car. It can be used on people starting at 22 pounds. So what age is that?
2
0:10:28
Well, basically that’s because of the mask, the statistics on the mask. I mean, we’ve saved three weeks old. We’ve saved babies. It’ll work. I just can’t tell you that because of the mask is rated for 22 pounds and up. Yeah. I don’t know how a baby is when he’s 22 pounds, but that’s the reason. Won’t hurt a younger child. We’ve saved hundreds of younger children So I would not use it because of kids 21 pounds, you know, I’m a grandmother
1
0:11:00
I go freak I freak out on my daughter and my son a lot in the house I see balloons or if I see anything like a hot dog or a grape That’s not I mean, I’m a nut job and they’re very you know, they’re pretty good. But the balloons I was like, oh no No, no. No somebody sent a whole thing of balloons. And my grand… Right, and my granddaughter was blowing up. I grabbed it, I said, and they were crying, give me the balloons, Grammy. I said, no more balloons for this family. I went nuts. Because of all the choking deaths, and they have some statistics on your website, you know, 41% were caused by food, and 59% were caused by non-food items, i.e. balloons, etc., right? And hard candies, gummy bears, chocolate, caramel. Oh my god, it goes on. My nerves are shot just reading this story. Please. Well, with 800 saves, we’ve seen so many things and that’s been a real eye-opener, you know.
2
0:11:45
Same as you cut the graves, cut the hot dogs, which we should do. We should get treats. But, you know, we’ve had little pieces of plastic, little toys, Legos.
3
0:11:54
Oh yeah.
2
0:11:55
We had two kids, you know, outside playing. They stuck a leaf in their throat and were saved. So the information we got from all these saves was pretty much that it could be anything.
1
0:12:14
Yeah, I got it.
2
0:12:15
Kids are very resourceful with what they’ll find and stick in their mouth.
1
0:12:19
Yeah, it’s amazing how we’re, as humans, we’re wired to just do that until we’re not. And that’s like a really uncomfortable phase if you’re an adult watching it. Like, what are you, take that out of your mouth, what are you doing? I got a grandson who’s like, one, every five minutes there’s something in his mouth. I’m running like a crazy person. No, no, no, no, no. All right, so I just wanted to congratulate you. How are you gonna get this to every school in the country? Are they supposed to call you? Are you supposed to call them? How’s that working?
2
0:12:45
I’ve been fortunate enough to be in some media lately. I just gotta get the word out.
1
0:12:49
That’s why I’m here.
2
0:12:50
I’m grateful for you to help me. I don’t care about the cost. I care about us getting them there quickly. And my goal is just keep screaming until we get them all done.
1
0:13:01
Okay, you’re listening to Arthur Lee, the inventor of LifeVac, the original rescue suction device that saves lives. He’s already saved a lot of lives, over a thousand and more counting and he just wants to make sure that no other kid in a school chokes and dies because they didn’t have something to help immediately and you only have a short period of time so if you are a school system or you are a PTA member or you’re a concerned parent just know that Arthur is putting his money his personal money out there to make sure every school in the country gets one of these free of charge unbelievable Arthur how can people find you?
2
0:13:39
They go to lifefacts.net and text your family and if your school needs a free one, just send us a message and we’ll get it out to you.
1
0:13:47
Awesome. I’m so proud of you and proud to know you, Arthur Lee. Have a great rest of your day. Awesome. I’m so proud of you and proud to know you, Arthur Lee. Have a great rest of your day.
