I’ve Been Hot Before But… Never As Hot As When I Just Happened To Be In The City Of Las Vegas (City Of Lost Wages) When Temperatures Hit 117 Degrees last week tying the record. You couldn’t be outside for 5 minutes without feeling like a grilled cheese unless you were lucky enough to be in a pool. Grateful to be back in the northeast today cooling off and back in the studio today to bring you another fun show!

Back To Business Monday! Ever wonder if you are saying the right things in the right situation? Pal Kathy McShane, Founder of Ladies Launch Club says, “Too many times we worry that we’re wrong even when we’re correct.” Today we go over a checklist for the next time you may be doing some second guessing. She calls them the 7 C’s of Communication:
Clarity – Be clear with your message, keep it simple. Emphasize on a specific message or goal.
Concise – Using the least possible words saves valuable time for you and the other person/people.
Correct – Accurate facts and figures, proper use of grammar, spelling and language builds confidence in what you have to say.
Complete – Provide all necessary information, answer all questions asked, and give something extra when desirable.
Consideration – Consider the audience and their requirements.
Concrete – Be definite and specific, not vague. Put actions into words.
Courtesy – Think about who you are talking to, their viewpoint and be respectful.

Shout Out On the Show Today To The Folks Working On Our Sweat-Less Future at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Could have used their new invention during the 117 Degree Las Vegas weather last week. You see, the brilliant minds at MIT have created a material of clothing whose pores actually open and close based on the level of body heat and sweat it detects. What’s so unique about this material, is that the ventilating flaps lining the back of the shirt are live microbial cells that shrink and expand in response to changes in humidity. MIT says they were influenced by bacteria in nature, which respond to humidity and temperature in similar ways.
You Hoo! Big Brains @ Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) You Have An Open Invite To Be On My Show! I focus a lot on innovation.
