Alright, we’re back in action. It’s a Monday. Back to business Monday. What is every business in America these days and around the world trying to do every week? Get noticed, right? Get business, get ahead. Be presented in the best light possible

1
0:00:37
and be in front of you as an option when you’re searching around. That would be like a really cool thing if your company was on the first page of Google. But there’s a lot of companies. How do you get on the first page? A lot of people don’t know how, but this guy does. Welcome back to my show, guys.

1
0:00:56
I’m Debbie Nigro, and I’m introducing you now to a charming, dynamic business gentleman from Long Island. His name is Juan Vides, and he is a wow, a complete… Oh, jeez, a complete wow. How do I stop getting calls in the middle of my show? Somebody, Juan, you better tell me that when we get to you, hold on a second. A class act, I call him,

1
0:01:19
counts his blessings every day and why. I mentioned briefly at four years old, he fled civil war in El Salvador with his family and through just a lot of hard work, great education and perseverance became not only American citizen, but he created a very successful life and business on Long Island.

1
0:01:35
He’s the CEO and founder of TechACS Corporation. And it was all his love for tinkering as a kid with computers that led now to his 25 years in the digital marketing industry. Juan, you’re here now. Come on, start talking. Good to have you.

2
0:01:49
Thank you so much.

8
0:01:50
Thank you so much for having me.

7
0:01:51
It’s an honor, Debbie.

3
0:01:52
I love your show.

6
0:01:53
Thank you so much.

1
0:01:54
Yeah, we have similar energy and there was something you wrote in your headline on LinkedIn that was an absolute which is we want to work with people who we know we like and we trust right and that takes energy to create

2
0:02:10
those relationships but you found a way to do that. Oh yes yes you know and it by the way that takes that didn’t happen overnight it’s right 25 years as you know because you assume you learn from your experience you know what works it doesn’t work and after 25 years. I finally it clicked

1
0:02:29
Well, let me just tell everybody how we met because it’s relevant to this comment I have a friend and you have the same friend his name is Tim Sabian and Tim’s a riot Tim was the guy who created the Howard Stern Networks We weren’t friends back then or I’d be worth a lot more money because he I’m telling you because we would have got something done But we are friends and we do business and talk business and he said to me as he does often and I say to him or we say to each other, you’ve got to meet so and so because if somebody you trust and like says you need to meet somebody else they trust and like that’s a no brainer right? The door opens. So he says you got

1
0:03:05
to meet Juan Vidas. I’m like all right bring him on. So he immediately puts him on the phone and now me and Juan are talking and I now am very clear that Juan has a gift that could benefit a lot of you listening. This computer business where you say you can get somebody on the front page of Google with a sweet spot for attorneys for an example in law firms, how does that work, Juan? I mean, come on.

2
0:03:28
Okay, well, you know, and by the way, search has always been changing and evolving, you know, so the way we look up information. I’m not going to take you back to a library to make it more relevant. A lot of people remember going to the library, looking up for a book, and you had to go to the three decimal system. You had to look it up on the catalog book. So the fact that we used to do that, it would take a lot of time. Google does that for us, and it’s within seconds.

2
0:03:55
Within three seconds, we could find the information that we need. And now with AI, it’s even more, even crazier how fast we can get information, as fast as we can get information. So I think that’s what a lot of people seek is information. Once you get that information, you have to find out what key works and what key works work best for you. And the best way to find out what key works best for you

2
0:04:18
is actually using Google and other search engines too. And not a lot of people forget that YouTube is another second search engine, and it’s by the way, it’s owned by Google. So a lot of people do video searches nowadays because they want to do it themselves.

1
0:04:30
Interesting. So let’s just take an example. I go and I’m a mad Googler. All right. I got a Googling problem, Juan. Because I’m an information nut job, right? So I’m always Googling and I start going through all the information that comes up. Not necessarily the first thing, but I always start with the first thing.

1
0:04:49
So if I took a keyword and just throw one out, just throw anything out randomly, and I’ll type it in and see what comes up. You make it up, go ahead.

2
0:04:58
Well, I make it up. Let’s say a radio show.

1
0:05:00
Radio show. OK, hold on. I’m doing this. If I could type and speak at the same time. Radio show.

2
0:05:08
So you’re guessing, it’s relevant, right? We’re talking about relevancy here. And that’s the other key component in Google and search, it’s all about

5
0:05:16
relevancy.

2
0:05:17
So you have to make sure whatever information you put on your website or you’re distributing on social media is relevant to what the services that you do.

1
0:05:25
Okay, so the first thing comes up, just so you know, when I type in radio show is YouGov Today, the most popular radio programs, podcasts in America, and then they always have questions, you know, what’s the most popular radio show, what’s a radio show, and then NPR.

2
0:05:40
So, all those radio stations or the websites you mentioned, they have high authority. What does high authority mean? It’s that they have a lot of information on their website. They can have thousands and thousands of pages that are relevant to that particular keyword which is radio show.

1
0:05:58
So, if I started using radio show like every other sentence on my website and all I did, that might get me more attention?

2
0:06:07
In the end, yes and no. I mean, the thing is that you don’t want to do what’s called keyword stuff and you don’t want to force it. It has to sound natural and organic. And Google knows now that you have to sound natural and organic. And they’re cracking down on chat GDP and AI as well, too, because people know that this, you know, people are lazy. They just want to copy and paste, but I always say if you’re going to

2
0:06:27
use AI, you’ve got to still put a human touch to it. We are the creators, our minds are the creations, we have to put it down on paper, so we have to interpret that.

1
0:06:36
Well, all right, so you have spent 25 years in the computer industry, but your business and besides SEO, of course, explain again clearly what that is and why somebody should call you after this interview. Just talk about your company a little and what you do for business.

4
0:06:57
Sure, sure.

2
0:06:58
I’ve been doing this for 25 years in digital marketing and digital marketing is a long time. Doing websites with search engine, online marketing is a long time. The other thing is I can tell people it sets me apart is that I have the experience. Having the knowledge and experience, for instance, a couple of my clients got sued because their website was not ADA compliant, meaning their website was not compliant with a hearing and seeing impaired. So nowadays, your website has to be ADA compliant, so make sure you have that.

2
0:07:26
There’s an app called Userway that you can install into your website that you could always, you have to make it 100%, you can never get it 100% but at least if you have that, it’s It’s almost like like a 80t sign for a criminal for a burglar broken into your house Oh, you know at least you have something you know as a parameter

1
0:07:44
So you could take someone’s website I mean you’ve built thousands of them and just kind of give them as an overview What’s good and what’s could use some help that was that something you might do as one offering 100%?

2
0:07:56
Yeah, we do that all the time and and that’s I hate to say this in my industry, there are so many snake oil salesmen out there that I often get to the case that I get a lot of people that have been taking advantage or they take my money or they promise what they say. Always do your search or always verify the person you do business with because a lot of people spend thousands and thousands of dollars in marketing and at the end, they don’t get the return on investment.

1
0:08:22
Okay. At the end of this podcast interview that will become a podcast. I’m going to have a checklist for people to just keep in mind because I think this is good stirring up for those who sort of you know aren’t in the web business or in business and they figure somebody’s handling their website and that it’s good right and it’s just Doing what it’s supposed to I was just saying at the beginning of the show that I’m so aggravated That I do all this work and it doesn’t only shows up in one place on my website not as a blog I’m doing all the writing. I go, I got to ask a guy like

1
0:08:52
you. I think we’re all have gotten a little complacent, not all, but many of us who aren’t in the technical world, but are creating information to assume it’s all there. I cannot tell you how many people’s website I’ve gone to. I go, did you see this typo? You have a word spelled completely wrong and giant bold. You ever look at your website? Yes. Right? And they just don’t. They move on.

2
0:09:14
There’s a lot of great tools like Grammarly and other AI tools out there that you can use to double check your website and all that stuff. So, absolutely.

1
0:09:23
Alright, let’s talk about the attorneys. I know that you have a sweet spot with attorneys and getting them.

2
0:09:29
Yeah, yeah. You know, I’ll tell you a story about that. My first customer as an attorney, I was very, because you know, I didn’t know, so like very scared, you know. But after a while, once you start working with them, they don’t bite. They’re actually human beings. Attorneys are human beings. They don’t bite. And then you get to the report and they started recommending me, so I’ve done over a hundred of attorney legal websites and I helped a lot of attorneys get on the first page of Google as well.

1
0:09:58
Awesome. I love what you do on Wednesdays, the winning on Wednesdays. Between 60 and 90 people join the Zoom at 11 a.m. and share their professions and passions. That is amazing.

2
0:10:10
Yeah, we’ve been doing this for five years now and continue to grow and it’s a great, we have great sponsors like MIT Bank and Joby Financial Credit Union. They’re great sponsors, thank you so much. But we’re growing and that’s the beauty and I created this five years ago and during the pandemic we’re into Zoom. So tell me how

1
0:10:28
60 to 90 people who show up on a Zoom all get their moment. How long does this

2
0:10:32
last? Well we do what’s called a breakout room so we go into it’s like a speed dating right so we we go into these breakout rooms and we go to about four to five different breakout rooms then each breakout rooms last about eight minutes and we usually have a break question of the week and Our networking platform is more sleep for branding and marketing and networking And we’re a little bit different from the networking group and we’re virtual by the way. Yes genius. Is it free? Do people pay how’s that work? Well, we used to have it for free But what happened was that you know, you know things happen

2
0:11:07
So we had to monetize this so we charge $20 a month and now we, due to popular demand, everybody wanted to miss the free version so we bring it back only once a month. So the second Wednesday of every month it’s free and that’s at 10 a.m. So all that information is on our website which is winningonwednesday.com.

1
0:11:30
Do you give people who connect on these Zoom hellos, speed dating if you will, business speed dating, the contacts of everyone to connect afterwards how does

2
0:11:39
that work? Oh absolutely because once you become a member right we put your name on your profile on there our directory we have a directory on our website on winning on Wednesday we have a business directory and you put your profile there it looks like kind of like LinkedIn if you will but we add more we have video we had other stuff that they don’t do we have QR codes and it’s really more interactive. And then the other thing is we do the email blast. We have about right now 4,000 emails with a 52% open rate.

2
0:12:09
So we do a spotlight with you when you become a member of Winning on Wednesday.

1
0:12:12
Very smart guy you are. I know that you started your first, built something, your first app or program when you lost your wallet. Did I read that correctly? Yeah, you did. You’re like, what am I doing now? And yet all your information was in your wallet.

1
0:12:26
What did you build? That was your first attempt.

2
0:12:28
Well, you know, it was called missingwallet.com and what it was, I was on a trip in Boston and I lost my wallet and you know when you lose your wallet, I had $200 and I drove, believe it or not, from New York to Boston. So I didn’t have my license and everything and I lost it on the train and it was very frustrating counseling on my credit card. Literally, it took me four hours to find the toll-free numbers of my credit card. Mind you, I wasn’t home, so I was at the hotel trying to find the toll-free number. So it gave me the idea to start a website to the you could store your your toll-free numbers, but it was a very novelty idea in a business sense.

2
0:13:05
But at the end of the day, it was a learning. That was my first website that I built and from there I put an ad on credit list and the rest was history. I mean, and again, we were talking about attorneys. I actually did the website for the Nassau Bar Association. I think I have about 4,000 attorneys.

1
0:13:21
You know, I know you’re Latina, and as you’re telling me the story about losing your wallet and all your information, I was feeling agita. What is the Latina version of agita? Agita in Italian is like aggravation, like acid reflux. You got a word?

2
0:13:33
Yeah, yeah, I know. Yeah, it depends on where you are, different cultures. Some people say carajo, whatever, they use different words.

1
0:13:44
Right now, your company, you’re the CEO and founder of TechACS Corp. Am I saying it right? You have major clients, but I know you also are a gentleman on various boards, both for-profit and non-profit. Fox News did the story on you I watched this morning about the American Dream. Your story is extraordinary and wonderful and honestly you exude good karma and I’m very happy to have you on the show.

3
0:14:16
Thank you Debbie, it’s been an honor, a true honor.

1
0:14:19
Thank you. You know good people attract good people. So if anybody out there has any questions about their website, want a little review, want to get on the front page of Google, and especially if you’re a law firm listening, seems to be a sweet spot for one. I’d love myself to go on that Winning on Wednesdays call. I’m going to join you just to see how you do that. That’s pretty impressive, and I want to see how it works. I’m going to be part of it. So, thank you.

2
0:14:43
Oh, excellent. Thank you. And maybe you could join some of your listeners could join you, too.

1
0:14:46
All right, cool. How can people find you, Juan?

2
0:14:49
Well, the website TechACS is the… Alright we’re coming to the end. Well, the website TechACS is the… Alright we’re coming to the end. techACS.com. Yeah, 2122021952, 2122021952.
