Yeah, I never I never met a piece of bread I wasn’t interested in bonding with so today I’m reading about like this new listing of the 50 best breads in the world right and I’m gonna go through the list believe it or not New York bagels are number 34 34 Yeah, you know how good New York bagels are right there 34 wait here all right so they’re 34. Wait till you hear what the better ones are. Oh my god. So I started thinking about food and I’m not sure my guest is ready to come on yet. Are we in sync? One of the really interesting comments, and I posted this on Facebook because you and I spoke about this yesterday, had to do with you as a businesswoman, on the other end of all this virtual nonsense that’s going on in the world, that’s good and bad, being the kind of woman that answers every single question that somebody sends you, calls you about directly, you get back directly. And I don’t know if you saw this, but somebody from Tarpon Springs, Florida, Margaret P., who’s a verified purchaser, said, everything about it was excellent. I had a question about freezing the lobster and I left a message and Andrea called me back which is unbelievable these days. I would definitely do business with this company again. I think that lost art that you have kept alive matters. How about you?

I totally agree and that’s something that when we signed on with Gold Belly, I was very concerned about how the customer service would go because we all know that things can happen and you know the only thing that really does happen is sometimes which is really not something we don’t have control of you know of FedEx or UPS honestly I forget who they’re using now. You know something’s delayed you know something happens and it doesn’t arrive when it should. I mean that can happen doesn’t happen often but that’s of complaint we’ve had with timing and as I say it doesn’t happen often. But when it does, you know customers have to go through the process of dealing with customer service through email and that’s just the way they do it but I made it very clear that I want customers to be able to contact me. So I’m accessible and customers of you So I’ll respond probably within hours. So that’s important to me and I really feel, I understand with platforms like GoldBelly or anything else, you’re not going to get a person on the phone. And being in the restaurant business which is a hospitality business, I don’t want to lose that person to person contact. I think it’s really important. I answer all my reviews on Yelp and Google and we have cards in each check folio that customers receive in both locations with a QR code and my email. If people don’t know how to use QR codes, some people most of us do but the point is that they can get directly to me. If you hit that QR You’re not going to get a submission form which I hate. And as I say I respond very quickly and I think that’s really important on every level in hospitality to be able to get a person. Sometimes I’m sure you’ve experienced this as well. You try to call a restaurant and you get the phone rings and there’s all these different prompts and then it goes to voicemail and oh we’re busy we’ll pay.

Oh my gosh I tell you I just I told you I just wrote about this crazy problem in my book you know the cold calls become the ice cold call and sometimes you call people and maybe they’ll call you back or sometimes they just never acknowledge the message the email it’s like outrageous and it’s very hard to get anything done so you know really kudos to you Andrea for your sincerity and the quality in all you do. I think you’re a terrific woman. And it’s obvious that it’s translating to not only your restaurant, which has been there forever, and if I’m not mistaken, was your restaurant Lunch Lobster Roll the first to introduce the lobster roll to Long Island and the New York City area?

And my best friend Terry, when he purchased a restaurant with his dad in 1965, and yeah, you know, that’s when it was introduced and the reality is it has spread as we all know all over the place and And listen, there are lots of rules that are great Some people do different things with them, but you know, we are the original on Long Island and certainly the New York New York metro area
