Meanwhile, ads seeking ninjas or rock stars—think “customer service ninja” or “sales rock star”—also have shot up.
Paul Wolfe, Indeed.com’s senior vice president of human resources, said the trend runs the risk of narrowing the applicant pool because many job seekers—particularly older ones—might not search more out-of-the-box terms as they scour job listings. Mr. Wolfe also cautioned that workers with more atypical-sounding titles on their résumés may find it more challenging to translate their work experience to new prospective employers.

Rather than follow the crowds to join even bigger crowds…I like going to places that are in their ‘off season’ to avoid crowds! The Hamptons in Long Island, NY came to mind as an ‘off season’ destination choice . Got the word even though it’s less crowded, it’s still vibrant and happening this time of year. Weekenders love it for the apple orchards, colored leaves and vineyard tastings and those ‘in season ‘ scallops being harvested fresh from the Peconic Bay. I was intrigued when my ‘very merry’ and ‘uber talented’ pal Chef Steve Biscari Amaral mentioned he’s creating the seasonal farm to table food pairings with 12 (TWELVE) Long Island Wines at his North Fork Chocolate Company . (Twelve as in take an Uber to this shindig) Steve and his partner created an awesome fireplace warmed farmhouse/art gallery/chocolate/gift shop/venue and event space. Sounds just like the kind of place I’d like to be ‘in’ on the ‘off’ season. Check it out.
