Anybody Play Poker? Today I’m dedicating my show to Poker because I grew up around more poker games than anyone I know. It was a family past time and the women in my family loved to play more than the men. Above, dressed beautifully in white is a picture of Betty Guglielmo, my Mom’s lifelong poker buddy and dear friend who sadly passed this week. That’s my late Mom Eileen dancing in the background. My Mom loved to dance when she wasn’t playing poker with Betty at my house or the beach club. LOL . Pretty little Lea in the shot, now all grown up shared the sweet picture of her Grandma with me yesterday at Betty’s funeral lunch. Betty had a big heart and a fabulous spirit and was always up for a game. Much like my mom and my fun Aunts. They all had a very good time playing poker. They were part of what I learned today is now 100 Million hard-core and casual poker fans worldwide, including 45. million in the US. Strangely I never joined in the game. Mostly because when I saw a poker game was starting up I knew I knew nobody would be looking for me and I could sneak off to do …whatever! With The World Series of Poker coming up and a new video service Poker-Go launched this week, It was only fitting that I honor my past today on this topic. Tune in between 10-11am eastern.

The 48th annual World Series Of Poker Begins In Las Vegas in less than 2 weeks and THIS guy will be playing in it! His name is Will Romaine and he’s in town from Vegas and joins me in the studio today to talk about how to keep your cool and not let your emotions get in the way of your decision making in between winning and losing poker hands. Also BIG changes have been instituted at this years World Series of Poker, which. is being held in Vegas at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino

The most dramatic and newsworthy alteration was announced earlier this week when the WSOP decided to scrap the November Nine concept for the Main Event final table, and instead will crown the winner of poker’s most prestigious tournament in July.

In addition, Poker Central has acquired the global television and digital media rights to the WSOP, and the network has reached an agreement with ESPN to expand programming from the tournament, including live event coverage and original episodes throughout the year.

On the heels of this news, the WSOP also revealed numerous other changes in this CasinoCityTimes.com piece.

How many people are rabid enough about the pro-poker circuit to pay for a new subscription video service called PokerGo launching this week? Well since it’s estimated that there are nearly 100 million hard-core and casual poker fans worldwide, including more than 45 million in the U.S. and considering the service will be available in more than 150 countries, let’s juts say even a fraction opt in the business model will work.

Read the rest of the story written by Todd Spangler in Variety and tune in to the show as we discuss this new $10 month PokerGO subscription video service today.
