Addicted To…? Need Help? Help For Someone You Love? Liberation Programs (LPI) is a private, nonprofit substance abuse prevention and treatment organization serving more than 2,000 individuals and families annually throughout lower Fairfield County CT since 1971. LPI’s mission is to empower people and their families to be free of the disease of addiction by providing targeted solutions that restore lives and strengthen our community. Alan J. Mathis & Reverend Dale Rosenberger join us today on the air 10:20am eastern.

Liberation provides services for youth, adults and families that include two inpatient treatment programs, outpatient and intensive outpatient services, health education for older adults and people living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses, treatment and resources for adolescents and their families, education and prevention efforts in the community, and permanent supportive housing for families.

Alan J. Mathis
Alan J. Mathis joined Liberation Programs in 2006 and under his leadership the agency has increased the number of people served by 38%, reduced wait times for treatment, and expanded access to wrap around social services including a transitional employment program and increased access to primary medical services through partnerships with community health centers. Working with the Board of Directors, the agency developed a permanent supportive housing complex in Norwalk for women and their children. Mr. Mathis is a frequent speaker in the community and his on-going column, Here Where We Live, can be read in the Norwalk Hour. Prior to joining Liberation Programs, Mr. Mathis served as President and CEO at the Lower Eastside Service Center providing housing, primary medical, addiction and mental health services, and Director of the Narcotics Rehabilitation Center at Mount Sinai Medical Center in NYC. He is a graduate of Kean University, NJ with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and earned a Master’s of Science in Public Policy and Management from the Averall Harriman College at the University of NY at Stony Brook. He is an honoree and keynote speaker at this year’s Spirit of Hope Benefit, Liberation Programs’ signature event. A native of Michigan, Rev. Rosenberger earned a B.
