You Think You Were Busy This Weekend? Diane Clehane was up at 4am Saturday to start her Royal Play By Play Wedding Coverage. Royals & Revivals today on the show …So How could I not mention 71 year old Candace Bergen (lookin’ good) and her upcoming return in the revival of ‘Murphy Brown’. My guest today, Diane Clehane will discuss this too, since she was involved with the original ‘Murphy Brown’ show back when. What’s with the TV ‘revival’ phenomenon anyway ? (Roseanne – Will & Grace, etc.) Did somebody at the networks actually realize that the boomer generation (particularly women) want to see themselves reflected in the media more? Might this also be the only generation with any disposable income left these days? My thinking is the networks may have figured this trend as one way to lure boomer viewers away from ‘on demand’ networks .
‘Which’ advertisers sign on will be interesting to see. BTW…Bergen, also serves as an executive producer of the revival which will start shooting in July in New York, because her life and hubby are here now. The show was previously filmed in Burbank, California.

‘Murphy Brown’ tackled political issues of its day, and then-Vice President Dan Quayle referenced the show in a speech during the 1992 presidential campaign. In its 30th anniversary year, it will return “to a much-changed media landscape, where the characters will play in a world of cable news, social media, ‘fake news,’ and a different political and cultural climate,” USA Today reports.
