What are the chances that yet another girlfriend would be in the news this week? One of my college roomies Donna Teichner, who is Assistant Director of the Family Ties Program at Family and Children’s Association in Hempstead, NY is fighting a hard fight! A program that she has been passionately spearheading for 2 decades , is struggling to regain its funding. The program has had a HUGE success rate of keeping kids out of foster care by helping improve the parenting and environment in the children’s houses, yet they lost the 2.2 million contract with the county.
Donna was quoted in Newsday as saying, “It’s not just a job for us,” “It’s a mission.” I can tell you first hand, there’s nobody like Donna when it comes to saving people, and she’s and her team have helped saved a load of families. Invited her on to support her and see where this stands today.
