I met some truly amazing women hosting Fashion Designer Beverly Olivacce’s 3rd Annual Women Of Power & Style Summit recently and today you’ll meet Katherine Quinn, in the photo dressed in red seated next to me. Katherine is the AMAZING Executive Director of Support Connection, Inc. a not-for-profit organization that provides emotional, social and educational support to women, their families and friends affected by breast and ovarian cancer. Although their office is in Yorktown Heights, NY, they help people all over the country via their toll-free services. I actually called on her yesterday to direct me to someone who could help a gal pal of mine stay upbeat during chemo. Their breast and ovarian cancer support services are always free and confidential to anyone seeking support or information regarding all aspects of diagnosis, treatment, recovery and beyond, for themselves or for a loved one. Each person that reaches out for support will find a warm, caring and compassionate atmosphere. They recently received a grant to expand their support services in Connecticut .
The professional Peer Counselors on their staff are cancer survivors who listen to your individual needs and provide personalized support. They answer questions about living with cancer, from the unique perspective of someone who’s been there. They help you sort out the many challenges a cancer diagnosis can bring, and enable you to find the answers and resources that are right for you.
