Could a personal trainer be the difference between life and death?
Well If you read the recent study results which said being able to stand on one leg for 10 seconds is tied to whether you’ll live another decade – then possibly yes.
Here’s my opinion after exploring one session with kickass superstar HEALTHYFIT personal trainer Cristina Telese. We humans need other humans to push us to accomplish things we can’t seem to on our own. It’s easy to ‘go exercise’ it’s harder to spend that same time really maximizing the effort to get better results out of why the heck we’re there in the first place. Plus now it’s personal. We all have to be able stand on one foot for 10 seconds or drop dead soon.
The results of a study published in The British Journal of Sports Medicine and published in USA Today, said for people over 50 ‘not being able to stand on one foot for 10 seconds was associated with a higher risk of death from all causes within the next decade’. Now there’s a wake up call to make sure you’re fit and can balance!
It’s been one week since I spent one session with Cristina at HEALTHYFIT the Womens gym in Mamaroneck, NY, and I can still feel the effects on some body parts I obviously wasn’t getting to the correct way on my own. Triceps / thighs / core. I was a lifelong workout babe until the last few years and she opened my eyes to some new ways of doing things that I knew nothing about.
