Kailen Rosenberg, known to millions as Oprah’s love ambassador on the award-winning series Lovetown, USA (OWN and BBC Worldwide), joined me on Halloween to talk about finding real love.
So happens just before she joined me on the radio, I had read a story in the NY Post about the number of people who were wearing ‘sexy’ Halloween Costumes in the hope of getting lucky with a sweet treat of the human kind by nights end.
The results of a survey taken by a sex positive dating app named ‘Pure’ said 72 % women and 43% of men would be wearing ‘sexy’ Halloween costumes this year.
I’m sure for some that was fun, but for those out there searching for a real connection, not a one night ‘boo’, it takes more than a sexy costume to find real love.

Honestly, ’30 Days to Real Love’ sounded to me a little like a pitch to go on some kind of diet. We all do know, if you actually follow a diet for 30 days, results actually happen. I was wondering, is Kailen’s 30-day love strategy one that actually works, like a diet, if you follow it?
“It’s pretty identical”, she said. “I mean, it really, really is. It’s about honing in on what you really want instead of just thinking about it and dreaming about it all the time and then looking at the reality of what has been blocking it”.
She went on to say, “And we know if we sit and we’re silent enough for even a moment to get really raw and honest and real with ourselves, to look at how and where we are blocking love, whether it’s from fear, from the past, past relationships, childhood, whatever, it is that has basically shown us or told us that love really isn’t real. Or it can’t happen. Or if it does it’s only painful and it’s only going to end in demise, which you know sadly too many people really end up believing that to a certain extent. Then we end up blocking it energetically and so we get in our own way and we end up through the way we dress, the faces that we have, the way we speak to others. “
“And so we’re constantly out there either attracting love or repelling love, she said. “And so, in 30 days, it’s really about getting centered, getting present, learning to really love yourself, to really understand and know your true value, to honor that. And then energetically, you’re putting out a totally different vibe, and the next thing you know, people from all directions are seeing you differently and they’re attracted to you, and you’re now also attracted to yourself in a very different way. So, it’s a cool experience. It really is and yeah, it does work.”

So, I know, I see you have a book, Real Love, right now and I, of course, am well aware that if I gave you 30 days, I’m in love so I don’t need to, but if somebody gave you 30 days, they might in fact find real love. It’s very funny you’re talking about this. I just wrote a book. It’s not out yet. I’ll read yours and you’ll read mine. Congratulations. Mine’s called How to Talk to Strangers, Advice from a Professional Stranger Talker. In that book, I’m very authentic about how good I was. I could talk a sidewalk into a business deal, but I never could romantically ever approach anybody I was attracted to in my whole life. I tell the story of a romantic experiment I did one night at the Jersey Shore at some meat market joint that really speaks exactly to what you just said. The experiment was I changed the whole energy, the vibe. I was like, you know what? This is my night. I don’t care what anybody thinks of me I had guys following me around Kaylin you can’t believe it. Oh for sure I had so many guys and my point was because I did something very different just like you’re sharing I’m sure you have a much better blueprint for everybody than my stupid story, but I said what all those nights I wasted in my life Not just you know living it the way I should have lived it for myself, and why I put all these blocks in front of myself. So I know what you’re saying is very valuable. Very valuable.

We feel it. We know that there’s something that’s uncomfortable. It’s not the way that we want it. It’s not what we know we deserve. But we’re, you know, most of us were not really taught. We were taught by society, taught by romantic movies or comedies or even the painful things that we’ve seen. And we start buying into that and then we follow that pattern. So I love what you said that you went out and you’re like, I’m going to do this differently. You were proactive in a different sense. You called yourself to a higher place of who you really are. You went out and you had fun and like you said it attracted a lot of men. Oh yeah. So yeah, it’s just getting regrounded and re-centered with yourself.

You know, and again, I’m no spring chicken and I wasn’t at the time either. It was about energy. People are attracted to good energy. It doesn’t matter what package it’s in. I want to talk about the in-person thing you’re doing because I think this is really meaningful. You said real love is waiting and I noticed on your website, mylovedesign.com, that you have a first of its kind, invite only, luxury dating, wellness experience. You have some event going on and I’m like, okay, this is really on the money because

it’s all about the in-person, I think. Oh my gosh we are missing that right and we have been for a long time. There was you know going back there was a loneliness really epidemic happening prior to COVID and then COVID hits us over the head and we’re forced to be inside in many different ways and to be apart and then we have this whole political crap thing that’s been going on for years and so now we end up as a society more divided and apart than we’ve ever been but really starving emotionally for connection on so many different levels not just romantically and the dating industry is just this crazy multi-billion dollar a year industry that I think is unfortunately really exploiting singles and numbing them out and misdirecting them with regard to their true value, men and women alike. And so you know having almost 30 years you know under my belt with regard to this industry and sitting back and looking at all the amazing lovely souls out there who have yet to find their person. I’m just kind of like what do I need to do? How can I help fix this or heal this? And so I decided yeah it’s time to really bring people together in a safe and you know a safe and fun space and you know younger and we were able to kind of connect on energy like we’re talking about and chemistry and the pheromonal thing. But also again going back to the safety part of you know this party that you’re talking about is actually it’s the launch party the national launch party of My Love Design which is you know it’s the first of its kind online luxury dating lifestyle and wellness platform and experience with fully vetted singles both online as well as then in person. And so we have Houston, we’re launching our first event in Houston and it’s just a space, it’s private, it’s invite only but it’s a space for singles that have been vetted. We know that they’re single, we know that they’re ready for a relationship, they’re really desiring a relationship, they’re in a good place in life, and they can all come together, have fun and flirt and just be and see if something really beautiful happens. It’s philanthropic faith, so it’s not just about oneself, but it’s about giving back. And then we’re taking that to New York City and we’re taking it across the country. And so I’m really excited about that because it’s just time for a change. Dating and friends are just exhausting.

I’m a huge fan of what you’re doing. Yep, I’m a huge fan. Say that again? I do have one question. I love the betting, I love the events, I love that you have a complimentary 30-day trial membership on your site, which I will put up for everybody to see. What are you doing about the age thing with regard to these events? How are you managing age? Because I am ageless, timeless, and weightless, which is exhausting. That becomes like, there shouldn’t be an age. People should just live their, what age they feel. But in terms of matching up people, have you figured that out?

Well, yeah, I’ve put over, I stopped counting after 500 marriages. That was years ago. But, you know, here’s the thing. When people are really finally ready for love, when they’re really, really ready for love, that means that the majority of their ego that’s usually front and center and is the picker for us, it’s choosing our mate, which is why we oftentimes end up kind of failing. Now instead our spirit is in a healthier space, our soul is in a healthier space, and so now we’re choosing from a different place. And age becomes far more irrelevant and so the focus isn’t on younger, older, or same age, it’s just on the right one. And the transactional piece is less. And so no matter what, no matter where you are, no matter what age you are, you are finding your person a healthier, better person, and you’re having a fabulous relationship. And life is so beautiful and precious. And that’s how it’s meant to be. And we pick from that sense.
