Hey there, it’s Debbie Nigro! On a recent episode of The Debbie Nigro Show, I had fun chatting about something that’s really taking off lately—’adult play’ and reconnecting with the joy we felt as kids.

More and more adults are leaning into activities that bring them back to that pure, playful state. And guess what? Coloring books are one of those trends making another big comeback. But this time in a more personalized way.

My guest, Madison Malloy, really gets this. Madison is a mindset coach, bestselling author, and the host of the podcast Next to Madison.

She’s put together a truly unique coloring book called “Color Your Way to Abundance: A 21-Day Manifestation Guide for Wealth, Health, and Love”. But this isn’t just any coloring book. Madison combines powerful affirmations with the meditative act of coloring, helping people rewire their minds for success and abundance in a totally new way.

In our conversation, Madison shared her own journey from a high-powered job on Wall Street to becoming a coach and comedian, and now an author helping people unlock their potential.

With her book, she’s taken three of the most important areas of life—health, wealth, and love—and created a 21-day process that’s both calming and transformative. Imagine coloring in the affirmation “Wealth is my birthright” and feeling that message truly sink in. By focusing on these affirmations in a relaxed state, Madison’s approach makes it easier for people to reprogram their subconscious and build new beliefs.

Madison also hosts her own podcast, Next to Madison, where she helps listeners get happier, healthier, and wealthier, and I love how she blends heart, humor, and smarts in everything she does. Another one of her book titles below is just another example of how she uses her humor. LOL

If you’re interested in starting your own journey to abundance, check out her coloring book on Amazon. And if you want to learn more about Madison, head to MadisonMalloy.com.

And now, back to the Debbie Nigro Show!

I’m going to stay in my lane today, which is what’s trending.

Adult play is back in a really big way, meaning more and more adults are looking to regain

2
0:00:29
their childhood, their sense of childhood, right? So, no greater thing reminds you of your childhood than coloring books and crayons and colored pencils. My God, I still get excited when I see a thing of Crayolas, I really do. So I was kind of following the coloring book trend, all right, and why they’re so popular.

2
0:01:07
They were actually very popular. Starting, I’m like, I don’t know, early. You know, Barbara Streisand had a song, My Coloring Book, and that was the beginning of the whole spread of adult coloring books. The pop culture took over that theme in 1962. And then they kind of came back in the 2010s, being used for, you know, as therapy, if you

2
0:01:28
will, to help bring adults back into that feeling of childhood. But now they’re back again, and it’s a really interesting way they’re being used, much more personalized. For example, the gal you’re going to meet right now, Madison Malloy, who you’re going to love, somehow is able to, through what she created, which is a great coloring book called Color Your Way to Abundance, a 21-day manifestation guide for wealth, health and love, somehow she can help you rewire your mind for success just by coloring.

Madison, welcome to the show.

1
0:02:02
Thank you for having me. I’m so excited to be here.

2
0:02:06
Well let me tell everybody a little bit more about you before you get all excited because there’s more to be excited about you, Madison, just so everybody knows. You’re a wonderful talent, bestselling author, mindset coach, lots of books out there, the latest of which is called Affirm and Flourish. It’s a daily journal. It’s called to the Gratitude and Growth.

2
0:02:25
You’ve got a podcast called Next to Madison. What I love about you is how you come to everything with heart and passion and you’re smart and that Wall Street background for business didn’t hurt and that stand-up comedy thing you do doesn’t hurt either. So you are just my kind of girl.

1
0:02:51
Oh well thank you. No, I’m so honored to be on your show and it’s amazing. Thank you so much.

2
0:02:58
You’re welcome. So just real quick, I mentioned to everybody briefly that the reason you’re on my show is because I met a stranger in a bar, okay, which is my theme and how it goes with me. A nice guy named Andy who was a real smart guy in business and we were chatting a little bit before I left and he took my seat and we stayed in touch and he said, Oh, you’ve got to meet Madison. She’s unbelievable. You’re so much alike.

2
0:03:19
I see where he found that similarity. It’s your energy. It’s your approach to sharing good information with a sense of humor. It’s your knowledge, you know, and passion for helping other people. So let’s talk about this coloring book. I know it’s not the main, main thing you do, but it’s what I want to talk about for this second. What led you here?

1
0:03:39
So I’m a mindset coach. So I do, you know, I’m the type of person that wants to empower people to live their best lives. And through my coaching around law of attraction and vibration and really like manifesting what you want, I realized that when I was telling clients affirmations, how impactful it was to make sure not only you’re doing it for 21 days because that is the time it takes to create a habit, but what I was finding is that when I would do my own affirmations and clients would, they

1
0:04:13
would just get distracted and they were just going through the to-do of writing down the affirmations. They weren’t in this feeling of vibration, which is the feeling to actually make law of attraction work for you. So coloring was something that actually can keep you calm and keep you present, which are two main ingredients for manifesting.

1
0:04:35
So I decided to come up with this coloring book because adult coloring books are so powerful. And I said, okay, I’m gonna take the three most important areas in people’s lives, which is health, wealth, and love, and I’m gonna create a 21 day where I’ll have the affirmations and

1
0:04:53
you can color them and while you’re coloring them you’re saying them out loud. So the coloring gets you in a calm meditative relaxing state so it keeps you present which is key and because you’re coloring and you have to color each letter when you’re saying them out loud or in your head like for example one of the affirmations is wealth is my birthright. When you’re saying that, you’re coloring that whole thing,

1
0:05:17
you might have said that 15 to 25 times. How powerful is that when you’re in that meditative state, you’re fully present, and you are in that feeling of wealth is my birthright. Money comes easily to me. It is so much more powerful than just taking a piece

1
0:05:38
of paper and just writing it down. I’m all about repetition. So people will say, oh, you know, I’ll write different affirmations every day. So no, stick with one or two and really hone in on those two. And so there’s five in here. And what I’ve kind of told people is I’ll say, well, you know,

1
0:05:54
if I color all these, it might take me an hour. I said, well, just pick one or two and do it consistently for 21 days to create that new subconscious belief and that habit. Because that’s what-

2
0:06:07
Very interesting concept. Very interesting concept. So someone can have a cup of coffee in the morning or tea or whatever they have in the morning and sit down and just start coloring for a little while. And that’s how it really starts getting in your head

2
0:06:19
whatever it is you need to achieve or change. Amazing.

1
0:06:22
Yeah, and repeating it is the big thing. Cause that’s gonna help really reprogram that subconscious mind because so many people, you know, know about the law of attraction and manifestation, but hardly anyone can get it to work. And those who do know that the secret actually lies in all the universal laws, the key one being the law of vibration, which is feeling as if that manifestation is true and that’s what we’re doing these affirmations in the present tense

1
0:06:54
so it’s not I want to be wealthy because it’ll always keep you wanting it’s I am

2
0:06:59
wealthy I am abundant I am prosperous and really you and I not while you’re coloring yeah you and I spoke a little bit about how much people self-sabotage themselves and I know I do it and I’m sure you do it. Is this sort of a way out of self-sabotaging yourself in areas where you just can’t crack

3
0:07:21
through?

1
0:07:22
Yes, because the main thing where people self-sabotage, not only in career and money, but especially in love. Okay, this is a huge one. So the love affirmation. When you’re fully present and you’re engaged in that exercise and you’re reprogramming your subconscious with, you know, I am worthy of love, love is my, you know,

1
0:07:41
love is my right, well, love comes easily and often to me, you’re gonna start self-sabotaging less. I think the problem is people are conditioned and they bring their past situations into the new relationship and they say, well, everything else didn’t work out,

1
0:07:58
so now this isn’t gonna work out. Instead of just fully being in that present moment and saying, okay, it didn’t work out. What can I learn from that? And how do I reprogram it to rewrite the new story? So I want to talk about this really quickly is, is amazing. Okay. And I say, if it helps you do it, I’m not the biggest fan of therapy because I feel that you’re always talking about the past, right? And when you keep talking about that, you keep that past alive. And when we’re manifesting, trying to create

1
0:08:33
something new, we need to create a new identity. We need to write a new story. So that’s why in my coaching, we talk about the new story. The therapist can deal with your past, figure out what’s going on there. I’m gonna rewrite the story, the new story that you’re gonna tell. Not every relationship doesn’t work out for me. It’s every relationship going forward that I am attracting the perfect soulmate, the perfect job, the perfect opportunities for me. Let’s rewrite that story. Let’s hone in on that

1
0:09:04
because we do attract what we talk about and what we think about.

2
0:09:09
Absolutely. You yourself, because you talk about reinvention, not just being possible, but powerful, have reinvented yourself. So how’d that go? I mean, from Wall Street to here you are now.

1
0:09:20
You know, it’s been a journey where I was back to getting out of college and having my dream job on Wall Street. I laughed because if anyone had told me, hey, in 2024, you’re going to be a manifestation coach and have all these books and do public speaking. And I would say, you’ve got to be out of your mind, what are you smoking? But you know for me Wall Street wasn’t the answer and decided to take a risk in comedy because it fueled my soul, it made me happy, it felt like it was my purpose. I love that, love that. I could get away with a lot more as a comedian you know

1
0:09:54
instead of just being inappropriate I was oh this is the inappropriate friend that’s also funny. So you could get away with a lot. And so from there I ended up, comedy is, you know, a lot of people are depressed. They are self-sabotaging. They are living in a lack and scarcity mindset. And so I was somebody who never struggled with mental health and all of a sudden here I was in deep depression, living in scarcity.

1
0:10:18
There was never enough money. There was never enough opportunity. And just falling down this path so low. And I remember saying to my mom, please pray for me, please pray for me. I was just in the dark hole and she said, I pray for you all the time,

1
0:10:33
but you need to start praying for yourself too. And it was when I like really hit rock bottom that I thought, you know, my whole identity was around how much money I made, how successful I was, and looking for this external validation that I was just absolutely miserable.

1
0:10:48
And I knew, couldn’t even afford therapy because I was on like Medicaid at the time and I knew it was up to me to rewire my brain and I went into a deep dive of mantras and educating myself and rewiring this whole thing because I knew I was my only way out and that’s what led in to when all of a sudden it was just BAM all these opportunities were coming I was clear on what I wanted. I wrote

1
0:11:15
the first book, Time to Light Me Up, which was a comical take, they’re still doing heavy comedy.

2
0:11:20
That’s a good one. I like that title. I didn’t want to throw it out on the air in case.

1
0:11:25
Yeah, it was also kind of my message to everyone during COVID. You know, everyone was so uptight and so crazy, because that’s when it was written. And I ended up speaking on a stage at an author’s conference and got recruited to coach for one of the biggest personal development companies and then started coaching on my own. And it’s just amazing how when you really step into your passion, you’re happy and you’re

1
0:11:46
in an abundant mindset, how the opportunities find you. And that’s why I was never had a vision.

2
0:11:53
Yeah, you shared a very authentic story. Thank you for doing that, Madison. And I’m sorry you were there, but look where you are now. I think you’re a tremendous inspiration for anybody who’s looking to get out of struggling

1
0:12:11
and depressed or whatever. Really dive into that because that’s where you really grow. I would never trade my struggle for anything. It made me who I am and it made me authentic to be able to help people who are struggling as well. Mental health is a huge issue in this country.

2
0:12:29
Absolutely. So this coloring book idea, I see it as a way that’s really helping people cope with a lot of things. The woman I mentioned earlier before you came on was in the news yesterday in the New York Post. Her name is Josephine Nigro.

2
0:12:42
She’s 103 and she’s been coloring to deal with her grief and cope with the loss of her daughter who passed from breast cancer. I’m surprised they chose that exact story, but it was about the coloring, about how it’s helping her cope. I think a lot of people might find this a unique resource and I wanted to throw it out. You happen to have that in your toolbox, so I wanted people to know about yours.

2
0:13:08
I know that people can personalize their journey through yours, which is the trend for coloring books, if you can see your way forward, right? So where can they get it?

1
0:13:18
So they can get that one on Amazon. It’s called Color Your Way to Abundance. Subtitle obviously is 21-Day Manifestation Guide for Wealth, Health and Love. Remember that 21 days, I want you guys when you pick this up, you can pick one affirmation a day or two but really stick to the 21 days. You can start with just one of the categories and make it a habit.

1
0:13:40
It’s just your muscle, your manifesting muscle, I call it, is just like your biceps or your leg muscles. You can’t just do it once in a while and expect to see results. It’s that consistency that’s really going to change that subconscious. So when you pick this up, dedicate yourself. You can do all five great.

1
0:13:59
It’s not pick one or two. You consistently go in there.

2
0:14:05
Do you send the crayons or the coloring pencils with her or do they have to buy their own?

1
0:14:09
Unfortunately, they have to buy their own, but maybe they’ll do that pocket.

2
0:14:14
I’m only kidding. Hey, it was great meeting you. I’m happy that people now know about what you’ve created here. And if anybody else wants to know more about Madison Molloy, you should go to her website. Go ahead, throw out the website, Madison.
