There’s nuttin’ like a blast of hot ‘clothes shedding weather’ to make some people realize they wish they were in better shape. LOL

If you’re a woman in your HOT phase of life the hot weather shock can be really… Uncomfortable.

However, you can turn things around in just 30 days and feel a whole lot better if you listen to my Nutritionist pal Jacqui Justice.

Jacqui is one passionate nutritionist! She’s the OG of ‘Talkin’ Menopause’ and was talking about it when nobody else was. She’s been a pioneer in the space trying to help her fellow females with solutions. Even if she won the lottery, she says she’d still spend her days trying to help others feel better.

Jacqui is a Functional Nutritionist and author. In addition to helping all kinds of individuals, she excels at helping peri- through post-menopausal women shed belly fat, reverse their symptoms, and finally feel like themselves again.

Jacqui Justice joined The Debbie Nigro Show to talk about her SHED IT! DIY Plan. It’s a 30-day hormone balancing ‘Belly Shedding Cleanse’. That should perk up some ears! LOL

Every woman going through this phase of life should listen to what she has to say in this podcast of our live conversation on The Debbie Nigro Show. If youd rather read than listen the audio transcript is below.

1
0:01:23
feel hot. Okay, all of a sudden there’s a blast of hot air and everybody’s like taking off clothes and people are like, I should have gotten better shape. And if you’re a woman in your hot phase of life, this is very shocking and very uncomfortable. However, you can turn things around in just 30 days and feel a whole lot better if you listen to my nutritionist gal pal, Jackie Justice, who I’m bringing

1
0:01:45
on right now. Hey, Jacquster, how are you?

2
0:01:48
Hey, Deb. I’m good. Great to be on again.

1
0:01:51
Oh, my goodness. I missed you, and you are just my girl for this time of the year when everybody is like super duper hot, and those super duper hot women are like, ìPlease help me out.î Just so you know, guys, if youíre just tuning in, Jacqui is a menopause expert, a pioneer in the field when nobody else was talking about it. She actually knows what to do and how to help you, and I think sheís got a great new program out if Iím checking it in properly, Jaq.

1
0:02:17
What is it, the Shed It DIY Plan? Yes, it is. It is actually based on my best-selling Shedding Your Menopausal Middle Course which sold over 200,000 courses worldwide. What I wanted to do, I wanted to design a shorter course that all women can do. It’s 30 days, see results within the first week and it’s a DIY. Not everyone can work one-on-one with someone.

1
0:02:50
Yeah. So, it’s, yeah, that was a big passion of mine because I really wanted to get the word out about why women are struggling with, you know, why are they eating and exercising the same as they always did, not getting any results? Why are they being told, eat less and exercise more? Why that’s the worst advice?

1
0:03:10
You know, all of that stuff and really what to do to get results. I know I said to my audience that you are so passionate genuinely about wanting to help not just women, men, women, kids, everybody with what your knowledge is about nutrition but that you genuinely would do this even if you won the lottery just from a different place.

6
0:03:30
Absolutely.

1
0:03:31
I thought that was kind of funny. Where would you go Jackie? Where would you go? What different place would you go to?

5
0:03:36
Oh where would I go?

2
0:03:37
You know I think about that all the time. I’m pretty happy where I am.

1
0:03:40
Okay, cool. Yeah. I’d be going to a more exotic location for a while. Yeah. I think I want to go to Italy for a while. And, I don’t know, I just saw something yesterday that cracked me up about I could become an Italian citizen if I had my great-great-grandfather. I’m like, I got people. I qualify. Yeah, you do.

1
0:03:56
I got people. You could. But then I have to go there and actually do this. I have to fill out some forms, but that would be fun. You know, we all have heritage that we’d like to connect with. This time of life for a lot of women, not only affects them, but their kids, their friends, their spouses, their other halves, whoever they’re with.

1
0:04:14
You know, when a woman is not feeling, it’s just so nobody’s talked about this like it’s some, you know, like we didn’t talk about mental health, right? Like really? Like it’s not happening? Like we don’t have a brain that has like a situation? And we don’t have a body that’s got a situation and like I don’t know why everybody thought

1
0:04:29
There’s such a big deal of so bad. Yeah, I know it’s such it all these like they make them such taboo subjects And then everyone suffers for it. Yeah, this is a long time coming now menopause is getting a lot of attention and Everywhere you can say it now like and like, no, stupid, and perimenopause. Half a woman’s life and nobody can help her,

1
0:04:53
it’s ridiculous, I’m glad you’re doing something. It is, it is crazy, and you know what, the message, the new message I have is, you know, it’s later than you think. Women have to start this before perimenopause, actually, in their 30s.

1
0:05:08
They have to start, you know, eating a certain way and paying attention to certain organs that end up by acting up on you in perimenopause. So they have a much smoother transition. It’s not just about starting once you have the symptoms. Okay, got it.

1
0:05:25
Very important. What’s your opinion about all these weight loss drugs? I just did a story before you came on about how one in eight people have tried these GLP-1 drugs, you know, the Ozempics, the Wacovies, and how, you know, Nestle is coming out now with a new line of frozen foods to sort of supplement their need for certain macros and certain vitamins.

1
0:05:46
You got any opinion on the drugs themselves? I’m really glad you asked about that. It’s a bane of my existence these days. You know, it was really meant for people with diabetes and people that are morbidly obese, and now it’s being prescribed off-label for just about anybody. Even the makers of Wachovia just came out with a research paper that said, you can never

1
0:06:09
come off this and maintain your weight. Why is that a good idea? quite a few natural alternatives, supplement-wise for this. And I can’t blame people that want to take the quick fix, but it’s not the better choice. Well the problem is when you decide to try and do better or drop some weight, it’s a long game.

1
0:06:42
And we’re in a media gratification society, and people want to see something happen and they may say okay I’ll just do this for a while and then I’ll handle it myself I’m sure that’s a big part of the head game with this direction in drugs right but then they never can is that what you’re saying yeah it’s that once they go off it their body starts to gain weight again and probably even more than you know the original number it’s terrible it is terrible.

1
0:07:14
I mean, I don’t think a drug is ever the best choice unless you have to. So, you know, again, there are great supplements out there that help and there’s an eating plan that’s not so restrictive. I think people have in their head, you know, I have to change my diet. It’s going to be terrible and restrictive and, you know, I’m not going to have any fun

2
0:07:34
and all that. That’s not true.

1
0:07:36
So you’ll be proud of me. I kind of just, Weight Watchers always work for me because I like keeping that little app in the beginning. I only do this for a little while, but it does show you if you track your food all day long. It’s like tracking your steps.

1
0:07:49
Half the day you don’t even remember where you’ve been, right? So how are you going to remember what you ate? But by seeing what you ate that you’re not eating, you kind of know the things that make you gain weight because as soon as your pants are loose, you’re like, oh, I’m not going to have that much butter anymore because look what happens when I don’t have that much butter.

1
0:08:05
My pants fit. I mean, it’s that simple, right? Yeah. Anything that increases your awareness is great. That’s it. And that is a tool that…

1
0:08:15
Journaling is the number one best tool for shedding weight. Well, that’s why this little app I like because I move fast, right? You move fast. We’re moving, we’re grooving, you know, I’m flying around now. I’m surprised I haven’t self-combusted, but I’m still going. But by tracking and keeping track, and I don’t do it every day, for a while I did, you really

1
0:08:37
are much more aware of how much you are eating that you didn’t need to eat, that you were just emotional eating or for fun eating. I’m a fun eater. I love eating. I love it. It’s my favorite sport.

1
0:08:49
And I like eating with people and I like eating good food and I like, you know, before the

2
0:08:51
line, it’s delicious.

1
0:08:52
Yeah, I just stopped melting cheese on everything. That’s all I stopped. I stopped eating butter in excess, stopped having excessive amount of olive oil is great, but you can’t use, you know, you can’t like warm with the bottle and just it’s education, which is what you do. You educate people.

1
0:09:06
That’s right. And it’s often Debbie, it’s often small changes like what you just said that cause big results. It’s often the small things little by little not everyone has to go like fall into something You give up everything little by little. Okay, let me stop, you know putting sugar in my coffee period Let’s try that and then you realize hey, I don’t put sugar in my coffee. I don’t crave sweets right at breakfast, right? So it’s like a trickle-down effect. I think

1
0:09:35
Loose pants feel better than food tastes. And that’s why my trick is to throw away the scale and instead use, I call it my slim jeans method. You find a pair of jeans, we all have multiple pairs that are five or ten pounds too tight and you use those to assess your progress. Once a week, you try them on and you know if they’re getting loose or not.

1
0:10:07
Let me tell you something. When those jeans start fitting better, there’s no way that you’re going to have a muffin for breakfast or a cupcake. You’re going to stay on your plan because it’s so motivating. You go on the scale and you lost a little bit of weight.

2
0:10:23
You’re like, yay, let me celebrate.

1
0:10:25
Jackie, I was laughing like the Joker when I put my old pants on. Like the Joker, I was laughing. I was giggling insanely. Today, I threw a bagel out the window. I said, no, what was I thinking about? I only took one piece of the inside.

1
0:10:33
I don’t need this. Nothing feels better than your pants fitting you better. Especially when it’s hot. So that’s why I brought you on today because I know that being uncomfortable in your own

2
0:10:37
skin when the weather changes is very depressing. And I really thought that I should go to the doctor and get a checkup. I’m not going to go to the doctor. I’m going to go to the doctor.

1
0:10:41
I’m going to go to the doctor. I’m going to go to the doctor. own skin when the weather changes is very depressing. And I really thought that I should shine a little light on knowing that having been there multiple times in my life that maybe in some short window here you with all your big brains could help some people feel better in the next month which I know you can do with this

1
0:11:13
DIY shedded thing you have going on and I want everybody to check out JacquiJustice.com. It’s right there. Jackie, I love your credentials. Master’s degree in clinical nutrition from New York Medical College. You’re licensed in New York State and Connecticut. 0:11:26
Institute. You’ve been in private practice since, I don’t know, 600,000 years ago, and you treat people around the globe in your virtual practice. I’m very impressed that you’re so… Thank you. And now…

1
0:11:37
Yeah, I’m impressed with you.

2
0:11:38
I learned that I’m on the menopausal hub for everyday health.

1
0:11:41
That’s awesome. Really awesome. I’m so impressed you sold 200,000 copies of your program. I didn’t know. That was amazing.

4
0:11:48
That’s just one program.

2
0:11:49
Another one called What You Eat After 40 sold quite a bit too. So yeah, women are really, I mean, no pun intended, hungry for information at this time in their

1
0:12:02
life because, again, it’s been so ignored. Yeah, yeah. Okay. Well, life’s meant to be enjoyable, right? And we’re trying to figure out how to make it fun, not deprive people. We’re just, you know, trying to get you to the next level of smiling and take away things

1
0:12:16
that shouldn’t depress you so you can focus on what really should depress you. Okay, that’s what we’re trying to do. Well, anyway, I miss you. I miss you. I miss you, too. Are you feeling well?

3
0:12:26
I’m feeling great and next time I want to come back I want to talk about, you know, people love to celebrate during the summer. Yes. They want to have their cocktails. Yes.

1
0:12:37
I want to talk about mocktails but my next thing is called spritzes where you have alcohol with your mocktail but just a spritz of it and you get the same effect. Okay. Okay, now I’m going to start spritzing. Very important that you stuck that in my head. We’ll come back for spritzing, cocktail spritzing next with Jackie Justice, functional nutritionist and expert in the life phase for women of a certain age and beyond.
