Wellness Wednesday! “Little Barb” my longest dearest friend will leave NY for Florida next week to move in with her 99 year old Mom who now needs full time attention. Her adult brother and sister are fully backing her with support but she’s the one that makes the most sense for the job. It usually is a daughter who takes the caregiving role in the final stages of life for parents. I have been there, done that, and I can tell you first hand it sucks watching your parents degenerate and pass. It’s highly emotional, often financially excruciating, and exhausting. “Little Barb” had to make the quick decision to move last week after her moms ‘status quo’ changed quickly. Tryig to wrap her head around the loving but lonely job ahead for her – Barb a coffee freak’, made me laugh when she told me she was thinking of starting a meet-up group down there called “NY area adult children who come to Fla. to take care of elderly parents and miss the Corner Deli”.
