Everyone Communicates, Few Connect. Connecting with your audience is one of the most important, yet most difficult, aspects of getting your message out. Jennifer Laughlin Stevenson, connected with me here on FB all the way from Iowa, to introduce herself and suggest I consider her Monday Motivation short radio segment. I loved that she reached out because I always say ‘Risk It or Regret It” … so today Jennifer’s on the air. She’s the Co-Owner and Creator of Hick’s Place, an outdoor activity center located in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She’s also a published author with a children’s book line as well as an autobiography, a motivational speaker and also a certified John Maxwell Trainer. Getting where she is has taken her a lot of work, and the road to success has certainly been a long, winding road.
She has lived in poverty, has a learning disability, and has had many struggles, but she followed her heart and found her own path to success. She has also gone through many careers throughout her life and each one has prepared her for something down the road.
She put herself through college while juggling being a mother with small children. When I finally found an area that interested her, which is helping people create their own success, she worked endlessly towards becoming an expert in this area. In order to reach this goal, she started a consulting business to assist human service agencies in creating a strong foundation to more effectively help their clients and patients.
